Manchester United news: Robin van Persie and Shinjia Kagawa sing at Manchester United party
It is a football ritual that has been honoured throughout the ages, butManchester United appear to have taken 'making the new guy sing a stupid song' to the next level.
When Rio Ferdinand tweeted that Shinji Kagawa 'is one funny guy' during Manchester United's Christmas bash on Saturday evening, you knew that something pretty funny had gone on - and my word it did.
The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder stepped up to the pl
ate in the best way possible to perform a rather peculiar version of the annoyingly catch South Korean pop hit 'Gangnam Style'. It really does have to be seen to be believed.
Not to be outdone, fellow summer signing Robin van Persie stepped up to the mic to give his own version of 'Glory, glory Man United', which luckily for us was over not long after it begun.
Evidently it must have been a pretty good night, with Ferdinand keeping his Twitter followers up to date about his hangover throughout the day.
He wrote: "Just been violently assaulted by a hangover! The fluids have worked a treat there, feel a million dollars now!! A litre of aqua guzzled down in record time!"
There's little wonder spirits are high in the Manchester United camp as they go into the festive period at the top of the Premier League table.
A comfortable 3-1 win over Sunderland yesterday, in which Van Persie got on the scoresheet, ensured that the Red Devils maintained their six point gap at the top of the table from rivals Manchester City, wth Chelsea now 13 points back after their exertions in Japan took them away from the action in the Premier League.
